I’m a registered member of the BACP for counsellors and Psychotherapists. I work both long and short term with clients. My approach is both Integrative and Psychodynamic. I hold qualifications for both models of therapy. I’m fully bound by the ethical framework of the BACP 2018, and hold both personal and professional insurance. I conduct therapy sessions face-to-face from Apsley House, TA1 4BH, and also provide online sessions in the evenings when they are available.

About Me

Making the start of your counselling journey could certainly be one of those pivotal moments in life. Until something changes, nothing changes. Its imperative that the match with the therapist is as unique and fulfilling as you are to yourself.

I hold a Higher Diploma in Integrative Counselling, which has allowed me to learn and acquire the skills required to effectively hold and contain my clients. This gave me a rich understanding of different therapies that I can draw upon with different clients. In my training and formative years as a therapist, I was held and contained in a very Psychodynamic model. After my initial training as an Integrative therapist, I started learning the art of Psychodynamic practice, both within my role as a therapist at SCC counselling center in Taunton, and also formally at Enfield counselling college.

There is a widely held view that genuine understanding of others often stems from personal experience. Put simply, one can help others only to the extent they have navigated similar paths themselves. As a male therapist, I bring a wealth of life experience from my extensive travels and years working within the construction industry. This background provides me with valuable insight into the challenges of masculinity that society imposes on men. I recognise the challenges faced by individuals of all genders within society. The question of one's role—whether self-determined or shaped by societal influences—is complex and often rooted in cultural or relational factors. In our sessions, my aim is to foster greater self-awareness, supporting you in leading a more authentic and autonomous life. While this process can present significant challenges and discomfort, it also offers meaningful rewards and personal growth. Addressing and understanding repressed aspects of oneself can lead to renewed energy and well-being, as unresolved issues often resurface over time.

My Practice

I am currently welcoming new referrals and offering both online and in-person sessions to suit individual preferences and needs. My face-to-face appointments take place at Apsley House, conveniently located in central Taunton. In addition to my private practice, I also work as a therapist at the SCC Counselling Centre based at this location. Alongside my role within the centre, I see private clients, providing a confidential and supportive therapeutic space for anyone seeking help.

I strongly believe that clients know themselves best. I believe that nobody else knows you quite like, or as well as you do. So, from this standpoint, we will try to uncover what's holding you back in life. I believe that most of our problems arise unconsciously, and we try to logic our way through life. If I can just think clearly, things will be ok, though usually it sits within a realm we feel, though cannot access. I will encourage my clients to turn up as themselves.

Change does not occur until it genuinely takes hold. In life, we are continually engaged in relationships—be they with a romantic partner, family, friends, or even the persistent inner voice that is always present. During therapy, you are encouraged to freely associate, exploring these relationships and internal dialogues in depth.

By pausing to reflect and look inward, it becomes possible to revisit feelings and memories from the past. These experiences often hold valuable clues to the challenges we face today. As we examine these areas, they begin to take shape and are expressed in words, allowing us to understand them more clearly and begin to move forward. This process lies at the heart of Psychoanalytic Therapy.

I offer both in-person sessions and online meetings via Zoom or WhatsApp, for short- and long-term needs. I’m both Integrative and Psychodynamic in modality. I’m currently available on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with some evening appointments available strictly for online working.

I offer a free 15/30 min introductory call to discuss the possibility of working together and a brief chance to meet and talk.
